Pakistan captain Babar Azam and legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi arrived in Quetta on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators.
Former cricketers Mohammad Hafeez and Kamran Akmal were also among the other players who accompanied the aforementioned duo.
The players received a warm welcome upon arrival in Quetta.
Wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed will lead Quetta whereas Azam will captain Peshawar.
PTV Sports will telecast this match live from 11:00am on February 5.
As many as 16 HD cameras, including drone, will be installed to produce live cricket entertainment.
On the other hand, a special pitch has been prepared for the exhibition match. Side nets have also been fixed for training sessions.
Temporary seats have also been installed in the stands to facilitate fans.
It must be noted here that tickets for the match were sold out within two days.
A security official told geosuper.tv that fans, in large numbers, have been gathering in front of Bugti Stadium's main gate for last couple of days, asking for tickets.
"We are tired of telling them again and again, 'there are no tickets in the stadium'. They are complaining that they didn't know where to get tickets from," he shared.
"We know they are too excited but they need to understand that there is a certain capacity in the stadium. Not everyone can go inside and watch the match. We are having arguments with them for last couple of days. It's getting tough for us," he lamented.
